Week 5: Ready for the season

Image
Ready for the Season     From the moment I got to college, I've been ready for the baseball season to start. I get the chills every time I think about lacing up and heading to my position for the very first time.  Ever since I first picked up a bat and glove as a kid, baseball has been more than just a game to me. It's been a passion, a challenge and a journey that has shaped me in ways I never could have imagined. And now, as I prepare to embark on my college baseball career, I'm filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.     There's something special about the start of a new season – a sense of possibility and potential that hangs in the air like the crack of a bat meeting a fastball. It's a time for setting goals, pushing boundaries and striving for greatness both individually and as a team. There's something special about the start of a new season – a sense of possibility and potential that hangs in the air like the crack of

But fear not, because with the right content creation tactics, you can turn heads, spark engagement and build a loyal following faster than you can say "trending." So, what's the secret sauce to crafting killer social media posts? What are their interests, pain points and preferences? Tailoring your content to resonate with your audience is key to grabbing their attention and keeping them coming back for more. Embrace Visual Storytelling: They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in the realm of social

Week 4: An Overwhelming Month

Image
An Overwhelming Month A lot of things have been going on in my world this month. Between school, family, and baseball I simply can't keep up. The goal for after break was to improve on my grades since the first semester didn't go how I wanted it to at all. But it seems like it's going to be the same go around if I don't get myself together. In one of my first blogs about ONU, I talked about the number of hours that I put into baseball compared to the number of hours I put into school. It's as if it's getting worse and worse. But what are some things that I can improve on? Fields of my college experience that I struggle with and need to keep up with more often: Procrastination Priorities Correct amount of sleep Planning out my day and following through. Laziness Giving it my all when it comes to schoolwork. These 6 things that I listen are some very important things that I need to improve on in order to see success in my experience. I don't want all of my y

Week 3: Dancing in the Rain

Dancing in the Rain      Week 3 is slowly coming to its end, but it feels like we're headed into week 10. It feels like it's been that long since we all have moved back in to Ada. I didn't get that time to ease back into things considering our first practice started the day before classes started, then the next morning had a 6am practice. But that's part of the grind so I can't wait for the storm pass, I need to learn to dance in the rain.     Recently, our practices have started to move outside since the weather is tolerable enough to stand out in for longer than 30  minutes. All I can say is that all the hard work in the offseason has paid off because it's showed so far for the 2 days we've been outside. I'm very proud of the name I've made for myself so far this freshman year but it's not even close to being done yet; we're just getting started.      I worked my tail off to earn roster spot to Florida in mid-March which not everyone gets

My First Hosted Podcast

Image
My First Hosted Podcast     It's official! The first podcast I've ever hosted. I was so excited when I heard about this assignment because I have lots of friends that do sports podcasts and was blessed to be one if the guests on one of the shows and it was nothing but fun. You get to be yourself for an hour straight with your best friends and people find huge interest in it.     Over break I was asked to be a guest on a podcast along with my good friend from high school who also plays college  baseball. The purpose of the podcast was for the high school baseball players to get the full effect of how the college baseball life is and what to expect their first year. The only con about doing a podcast with your friends is that it's very easy to get off topic and start storytelling. you get into a groove and get comfortable and want to start talking about "The good Ol 'days" or a random "Remember when..." conversation spark up. So, without being said,

Diving into the Podcast Realm In a world dominated by digital content, podcasting has emerged as a digital technology that attracts audiences worldwide. But let's be real, podcasting is more than just hitting the record button and sharing your thoughts. It's a journey, an art and an ever-evolving experience. First things first, finding your niche is like discovering buried treasure. Whether you're into true crime, comedy, business or pop culture, honing in on your passion is crucial. It's the heartbeat of your podcast, keeping both you and your audience engaged week after week. Then comes the tech talk. Sure, a good microphone is essential, but understanding audio editing software, mastering the art of sound production and ensuring crystal-clear quality is what sets the professionals apart from the amateurs. Don't be afraid to experiment with music, sound effects and engaging intros to create a unique sonic identity for your podcast. But hey, it's not just about
